I’m sure John’s letter, which was circulated A LOT of places, not just the nydailynews… had something to do with it. It’s amazing what one can accomplish when you have 1 or 2 newspapers on your side.

“Obama’s statement came a day after he was slammed in a letter by John Feal, head of a first responder advocacy group, that was featured in the Daily News. “Why have you failed us? We thought you were our champion,” Feal wrote.”

Nice. But hard to know if that really had anything to do with it . . . would be great if it did.

With regards to Obama… during his campaign, he promised to support the bill. Then, after he became President, suddenly, his support for the bill changed. Then he was shamed into giving $150,000,000.00 to the responders. While the James Zadroga bill was being shot down in Congress, he didn’t say a word. When all of the “hoo-ha” was going on between Weiner and King, he didn’t say a word. It wasn’t until John shamed him into saying anything did he murmur a word.
