This is clearly a hit piece. One of the most readily apparent examples we have.

Here's a paragraph break down. Read this a couple times and a clear picture emerges. Feffer keeping the gate of mainstream credibility. What is and is not ok to talk about. There is certainly some truth to much of what he says, or he wouldn't be taken seriously by his intended audience. But his selective focus clearly demonstrates bias. The legitimacy of 9/11 truth does not rest solely on the people involved and Feffer is avoiding the facts.

1) Feffer heard something happened in Yemen

2) Feffer points out that he didn't see it with his own eyes.

3) Feffer points out that most news sources confirm it, but a couple contradict it.

4) Feffer offers examples of credible sources disagreeing on the topic, basically indicating the limits of his willingness to speculate.

5) Feffer lists conspiracy theories that are on the other side of his speculation limit.

6) Feffer characterizes everything over that line as 'downright nonsensical.'

7) Feffer defines conspiracy theory as combining 'total skepticism with total credulity.'

8) Feffer characterizes the American people as susceptible to 'infectious' theories based on their frustration with government.

9) Feffer suggests that the worst conspiracy theory of all is 9/11 truth and implies that it's anti-Semitic.

10) Feffer makes a really sad attempt to summarize his problems with the movement, very clearly indicating his bias by selective focus.

11) Feffer characterizes people involved in 9/11 truth as inflexible and unresponsive to contradictory information.

12) Feffer characterizes the movement as paranoid and his analysis begins to sound like he thinks Alex Jones runs the movement.

13) Feffer suggests that conspiracy theories are dangerous as they erode democratic institutions, lead people to being libertarian, and distract them from important issues. Again, more Alex Jones, WeAreChange kind of issues.

14) Feffer fears that conspiracy theories are the modern mode of understanding the world around us, implying the decline of our civilization.

15) Feffer suggests that this desire to assume reality rather than confirm it threatens to infect journalists and provides a UFO based example.

16) Feffer ends by again restating his premise that everything over his line of credibility is nonsense.
