As a long term 9/11 truth researcher, a former history teacher and someone who has worked in mental health, Bob has a unique perspective on society and its drives. In this interview Bob gives us an insight into how he sees the world and its workings and why 9/11 truth should be seen as possibly the best chance we have at bringing peace to our world. Bob believes that we may have already been successful at preventing other wars with our exposure of the 9/11 fraud; I totally agree.

Bob says he is “always ready to go!” when he is called to speak about the 9/11 tragedy and uses every opportunity to educate the population about the lies they have been told and to celebrate his son’s short but exceptional life. About Bob: Bob McIlvaine is the father of Bobby McIlvaine, a victim of the 9/11 attacks. Bobby graduated from Princeton University and managed to get a job at Merrill Lynch as Assistant Vice President For Media Relations. He was also engaged to be married in 2002. On September 11, 2001, Bobby was on his way to a banking conference on the 106th floor of the World Trade Center North Tower and was killed as a result of what happened that day. From the evidence that Bob has gathered it is apparent he was killed by an explosion, likely in the lobby. Bob has been one of the most outspoken 9/11 family members with regards to seeking truth, accountability, and justice for what happened that day. He is one of the family members that attended every 9/11 Commission hearing and has attended numerous 9/11 truth conferences around the world. He has appeared in several TV, radio and newspaper interviews, as well as the documentary 9/11: Press For Truth.

BUILDING WHAT

Rosie then introduced two callers – Bob McIlvaine and Tony Szamboti – who are supporters of Buildingwhat.org. Rosie read the purpose of “Building What” and how it’s an effort led by 9/11 family members to reopen the investigation of what happened to Building 7 on September 11th, 2001. She read from the website and said Building 7 fell at free fall speed with no resistance from the support structures as if the support structures had been removed. Rosie read the facts about Building 7 from their website and Pete read the list of the companies that were housed in the building. Rosie said Building What isn’t pointing the finger at any one organization or person for the collapse of the building, they’re just saying it defies the laws of physics and too many things have been swept under the table.

Rosie first introduced Bob McIlvaine who lost his son Bobby on September 11th. Bob told Rosie all about his son who graduated from Princeton and then went on to NY to work as the VP of Media Relations for Merrill Lynch. Merrill Lynch is across the street from the North Tower and his company had a seminar in Tower One that day, but he never showed up. No one was able to contact him after the first plane hit the towers. Bob and his family went to NYC immediately after 9/11 and went from hospital to hospital looking for their son. On Thursday of that week, they got a call that he was found dead. His body was one of the first 10 bodies that were found at the WTC site. He said any parent who has lost a child wants to know if their child suffered and how they died. They didn’t know if he jumped from the 106th floor (where the conference was) or how he had died that day. Four years after his death Bob met with the doctor who examined his son’s body and the doctor described Bobby’s injuries to him which included post-mortem burns that weren’t severe (not more than a sunburn) and his injuries that showed he took a blast to the chest and the face. The injuries showed he didn’t jump from the towers. Bob said they know the lobby of the WTC was blown out that day and he thinks that was where he most likely died. Bob has talked to people who were there that day and there could have been an explosion before the first plane hit. He’s also gone to every 9/11 commission meeting and he said they refuse to acknowledge there were any explosions that day even though witnesses have testified otherwise.

Rosie then introduced Tony Szamboti who read the reports of Building 7 that made him suspicious. He heard about Building 7 when it fell and was perplexed as to why it fell when it hadn’t been hit by a plane. Tony is a mechanical engineer who works for structures in the Aerospace industry. He said (many things but I am not a mechanical engineer so I am doing my best listening) that there is a good possibility that the structure went down because of a controlled demolition. Tony said any engineers he’s shown the evidence to shake their heads at what they see. He said it’s not a conspiracy, it’s a crime. Tony explained a controlled demolition and how when a building is built it is built to sustain several levels. He said buildings don’t just fall apart “willy nilly” or by fire. Tony said fire can’t melt steel except in a controlled circumstance such as a blast furnace. And Rosie and Tony reminded listeners that Building 7 wasn’t hit by an airplane. Tony referenced the recent building fire in Shanghai and how the core and the exterior (even the scaffolding) was still standing after the fire was put out and how that fire was HUGE (unlike the fire in Building 7). Tony said there is no way Building 7 could have fallen the way it did without demolition devices being involved. There was also thermite found in the dust between Building 7 and the WTC towers.

Tony said the goal of Building What is to educate the public so that the city council can have the public’s support that will allow them to investigate the cause of Building 7’s collapse further. Rosie and Tony also talked about the early reports of Building 7’s collapse by BBC and by CNN.

Bob said when Building What was on Geraldo that was the first time they’ve had any coverage in mainstream media. Tony said on any other day, if a building had fallen in this way, defying the laws of physics, it would have been major news for several weeks.

Rosie said she became interested in Building 7 and what happened to it when Bill Geddie (the EP of The View) had booked a guest debunking the conspiracies of what happened on 9/11. She wanted to look into what “myths” that person was actually debunking. Rosie thanked both men for calling into the program. She said for everyone who lost someone on 9/11 and what the country has lost we deserve a full an impartial investigation. She wished there was some way she could help heal Bob’s wound and heal his heart and said she was so sorry for his loss. Tony said if listeners are interested in helping demand an investigation into what really happened to Building 7 that day they can contribute money to the cause so that they can get more publicity and public support.

Rosie took several calls from listeners about the Building What campaign. One caller worked in the WTC at the Securities and Exchange Commission and was there on 9/11. She talked about how upsetting the calls were to her to imply that someone (other than the terrorists) had something to do with 9/11. She was in Building 7 that day and said when the second plane hit there was definitely structural damage done. She said glass came flying in and the impact of the plane was very powerful even when it didn’t hit the building. She wanted to know who the callers were saying was responsible. Rosie said the people of Building What aren’t proposing they know who made the tower collapse, they’re just saying we as Americans are entitled to a new investigation. And that it’s impossible for it to fall the way it did. Rosie thanked the caller for calling and told her she’s happy she made it out alive. Rosie told the caller it’s difficult to imagine that it hasn’t yet been fully investigated and said all the people who lost loved ones that day deserve answers.

Granted, that media was Fox News host Geraldo Rivera, who in a former iteration ran a Jerry Springer-like daytime talk show.

Still, at the end of his serious-yet-brief treatment of questions surrounding the collapse of World Trade Center 7 (WTC 7), Rivera admitted that the activists had made him “much more open minded” about questions surrounding 9/11.

And all it took was the proper message.

That message, which was playing in 30-second bytes on screens all around New York City, does not focus on conspiracy theories. It does not feature hip-hop beats in the background or winded, red-faced protesters dressed in black shouting at reporters. It doesn’t even mention President George W. Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney or the systemic failures in America’s air defenses.

Instead, it puts the spotlight on people who lost family members in the 2001 attacks. Patriotic background music plays as viewers are gently reminded that not two, but three buildings collapsed on 9/11.

“Although the official explanation is that fire brought down building seven, over 1,200 architects and engineers have looked into the evidence and believe there’s more to the story,” they say.

Then they implore viewers to help them seek justice, for their families, simply by visiting a web site: buildingwhat.org.

Their campaign’s name, “Building What?” was allegedly taken from the response offered by New York Supreme Court Justice Edward H. Lehner, when asked if he knew about WTC 7.

“Up until now, only those considered nutjobs questioned the official conclusion, that office fires caused by the nearby catastrophe of the towers collapsing brought down building number seven,” Geraldo said before introducing his guests.

Cue a clip of Rosie O’Donnell.

“If explosives were involved,” he continued, “that would mean the most obnoxious protesters in recent years … were right.”

Geraldo called the new television ad “not so easy to dismiss as those demonstrators were.”

The ad is being sponsored by donations to the groups New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN), Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911) and others. They’re calling for the New York City council to launch an investigation into the collapse of building seven.

NYC CAN, a nonpartisan association of over 100 9/11 family members, is the same group behind a 2009 ballot initiative requesting a new 9/11 investigation. It secured more than enough support to qualify for the ballot but the city ultimately blocked it from going before the voters, citing improperly collected signatures.

At time of this writing, AE911 said it had among its members, “1,346 verified architectural and engineering professionals who have put their professional reputations on the line to publicly voice their disagreement with NIST’s findings.”

One of Geraldo’s guests, Bob McIlvaine, whose son was killed on 9/11, also appeared in a longer, web-exclusive ad released in March after the delivery of a petition and information packets to members of the New York City council.

“What caught my eye was their claim that 1,300 architects and engineers examined the evidence about building seven’s collapse and disagree with the official report by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).”

NIST’s report, released years after the 9/11 Commission Report, ostensibly proved the “new phenomenon” of thermal expansion bringing down a steel frame structure. The scientists added that their findings made them worry numerous other structures could be prone to the same style of collapse.

In spite of their conclusions, the only three skyscrapers are known to have officially collapsed from hydrocarbon fires weakening steel supports, and all of them fell on Sept. 11, 2001.

Oddly enough, that same day the BBC reported that building seven had fallen some 23 minutes before it went down and featured a reporter speaking about the third dose of tragedy even as the tower remained standing behind her. Discovery of the mistaken and ill-timed reportage has since fueled talk of an international conspiracy, but the network has adamantly denied allegations that it received advance notice of the collapse.

Tony Szamboti, a mechanical engineer who appeared on Fox News with McIlvaine, explained that “Building seven came down, went into a sudden collapse across the full width and length of the building, for 2.25 seconds, which amounted to 105 feet or eight stories, eight 13-foot-tall stories — it was in full free-fall acceleration. That is impossible because, in a natural collapse, columns would have to buckle. When columns buckle, there is a minimum resistance. … It would slow down.”

“What are you suggesting brought it down?” Geraldo asked.

“I’m suggesting there was some form of demolition devices in that building,” he replied. “… I’m not saying I know what it is. I’m saying that it was at freefall acceleration and the NIST admitted to that.”

Geraldo agreed that it looked like a structure “being demolished by the professionals who can actually collapse a building right into its own footprint”.

“Why do you think they’re lying about it?” he asked, inviting his guest to speculate.

Szamboti didn’t take the bait.

“I don’t really know all the details of why they’re lying about it,” he said, affirming his position without dipping into the conspiratorial nature of the various 9/11 theories. “I can’t read their minds. All I can say is, scientifically, it’s impossible for fire to have done what we say.”

Geraldo said the new NYC CAN campaign and the serious individuals behind it had made him “much more open minded” about 9/11 activism.

Rivera, who told a rowdy crowd of 9/11 activists to “get a life” two years ago, seemed very supportive of the call for an investigation and closed the segment by saying “It’s an intriguing topic. I certainly am much more open-minded about it than I was and it’s because of the involvement of the 9/11 families and all these engineers and architects”.

World Trade Center 7 was the third skyscraper to be completely destroyed on September 11, 2001 – despite not having been hit by an airplane.

The ad began airing on election day and will run through November 10 on 13 channels, including CNN, MSNBC and VH1. NYCCAN, the group who created the ad, estimate that it will be seen by nearly 900,000 viewers. The group plans to commission an opinion poll after the run of the ad and send the results to every City Council member.

“We’ve been educating the City Council about Building 7 and the need for a new investigation for the past six months,” said Bob McIlvaine, father of Bobby McIlvaine and one of the 9/11 family members who appear in the ad. “We are asking them now to do something about it.”

Manny Badillo, another family member who appears in the spot, said “For the next two weeks, we the people will see, many for the first time, the demise of the Salomon Brothers building on the day of my uncle’s murder. What you witness allows critical thought about details of the crime that we have not been told by our elected officials or corporate media. Knowing all the facts of the case leads to decided actions for the better. The truth saves countless lives in a million ways, and properly memorializes our loved ones.”
