As a result of John Faine’s recent interaction with Kevin Bracken, considerable discussion has arisen regarding the events of 9/11. Bracken suggested that the official explanation of 9/11 “did not stand up to scientific scrutiny” and challenged Faine to a debate.

Faine’s response was to say that “there is nothing to debate”, and to deliver some uncalled for abuse.

I have been watching the ABC for a long time and have concluded that the ABC must agree that there is nothing to debate as, to my knowledge, it has never permitted a debate to be broadcast. My question is “What are you afraid of”? Surely, if there is no doubt about the official story, any debate would be a hands-down win for the status quo.

As one of the authors of the peer reviewed scientific paper “Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe [The Open Chemical Physics Journal], I offer to debate, or if you prefer, submit to interrogation, on the scientific evidence.

Under your charter you are obliged to provide coverage to both sides of all significant debates. I put it to you that, given the extraordinary political decisions which flowed from 9/11, you have a special obligation to give this particular topic fair treatment.

Unionist demands right of reply over 9-11 conspiracy backlash

Kevin Bracken, the senior Victorian unionist who claims that the 2001 World Trade Center collapse was not caused by terrorists, called talkback again today to demand a right of reply.

Kevin Bracken made it clear that this time he was calling as a private individual, not as President of the Trades Hall Council and Secretary of the Maritime Union of Australia.

Yesterday Kevin Bracken called Jon Faine’s Mornings program claiming the official story of the 9/11 attacks ‘doesn’t stand up to scientific scrutiny’.

His comments attracted worldwide attention and earned rebuke from Prime Minister Gillard and the Secretary of the Trades Hall Council.

Today he attacked Jon Faine himself for dismissing his claims out-of-hand.

“Unfortunately cowards like yourself have set the political agenda in this country for too long,” said Kevin Bracken

He called Jon Faine a bully and challenged him to a debate on the issue.

Jon Faine refused the debate.

Kevin Bracken’s initial call was in response to the Parliamentary debate on the Afghanistan war.

“What we should be doing is calling for a proper investigation into the events of September 11,” says Kevin Bracken.

“I believe that the official story is a conspiracy theory, that doesn’t stand up to scientific scrutiny,” he says.

His comments were brought up in Federal Parliament during Question Time where the Prime Minister called them ‘stupid and wrong’.
