9/11 remains one of the most misunderstood events in modern history. The first myth is that it came out of the blue on an unsuspecting America. In fact it is known that 11 countries provided advance warnings to the US about the 9/11 attacks, including Russia and Israel which sent 2 senior Mossad experts to Washington in August 2001 with a list of terrorist suspects that included 4 of the 9/11 hijackers, none of whom was arrested.
Newly appointed US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta told American troops in Baghdad on Monday that 9/11 was the reason they were in Iraq, before he was quickly corrected by his spokesman. “The reason you guys are here is because of 9/11. The US got attacked and 3,000 human beings got killed because of Al-Qaeda,” Panetta told about 150 soldiers at the Camp Victory US base.
The Center for Public Integrity identified 935 lies (no doubt a conservative estimate) Bush and Cheney and their neocon enablers told to justify attacking and occupying Iraq. And they lied about many other things as well: domestic surveillance, the “war on terror,” torture, the Plame affair, etc. The list is endless. Yet our minds recoil at the idea that they lied about the events of 9/11. This is because the implications are just too terrible to contemplate.
“[To] people on the so-called left who want to say that official story is true, [I say,] but you think they lied about Iraq and Afghanistan. You think they lied about so many things, why do you think they are telling the truth about 9/11? Who wants to think that our government would participate in […]
“I fear that if the underlying issues of 9-11 truth are not demanded, that Iraq may be but a flame on an ocean of gasoline that may be used to ignite war after war after war. We cannot, as a peace & justice movement only address the flames. We must look at the fuel being […]
